The Hyperinsulinism and Low Blood Sugar Center of Denmark
The Center for Hyperinsulinism and Hypoglycemia is a national and international expert center for complex conditions involving low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in children and adolescents. This encompasses diseases such as congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI), insulinoma, and pathological ketotic hypoglycemia.
The center is a multidisciplinary department at OUH (Odense University Hospital), involving departments for pediatric medicine, genetics, anesthesiology, nuclear medicine and radiology, surgery, and pathology.
We specialize in the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of these conditions, and collaborate on research with other national and international researchers and patient organizations.
Our expertise in hyperinsulinism and hypoglycemia is internationally recognized, and therefore we also treat patients with low blood sugar from other countries. We have already welcomed over 100 international patients to the Center for Hyperinsulinism and Hypoglycemia.
