b) Affiliation of international adjunct associate professors and adjunct professors
Financial support for the affiliation of an adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor to a research unit at OUH.

Objective
In addition to the overall objective of the OUH Internationalisation Fund (see the introduction of the call), the aim of category b) Affiliation of international adjunct associate professors and adjunct professors is to supply financial support for the affiliation of an adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor to a research unit at OUH.
Please note that a separate application regarding approval of the adjunct professor or the adjunct associate professor must be submitted to the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Please refer to the SDU website.
The affiliation of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor must be of benefit to OUH.
Requirements for applicants
The following requirements must be met in order to obtain funding from The OUH Internationalisation Fund:
- Only the head of research may apply for the affiliation of an international adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor.
- If approval of the affiliation of the adjunct associate or adjunct professor from SDU has not been obtained prior to the application deadline, the OUH research unit must apply SDU for approval. However, the application for funding of an adjunct professor from The OUH Internationalisation Fund may be submitted before the SDU approval is given. A possible grant will be conditional of approval from SDU.
- If the application concerns a prolongation of the affiliation of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor, a new and complete application must be submitted.
Eligible costs
- Travel expenses for the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor to OUH from his or her home organisation and return (roundtrip and economy class).
- Hotel and subsistence expenses according to the current circular for business travels (hotel and daily allowances or reimbursement of meals).
For each adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor, the following rates apply for the total amount available from The OUH Internationalisation Fund:
- A maximum of DKK 60,000 pr. year for a period of three to five years.
Please note:
- Funding does not necessarily cover all expenses.
- Travel and accommodation must be made via The OUH Travel Service (ouh.rejseservice@rsyd.dk) cf. the OUH Travel Policy.
- If the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor does not make use of the OUH Travel Service for booking travel and hotel, reimbursement will only be by receipts (economy class).
- Please note that under certain circumstances OUH, as an employer, is obligated to inform SKAT (tax authorities) if accommodation is paid by OUH as part of a grant. For further information, please refer to OUH Research Support reg.forskerservice@rsyd.dk.
Non eligible costs
The OUH Internationalisation Fund cannot cover the following expenses (the list is not exhaustive):
- Expenses already defrayed, i.e. the application must concern future expenses.
- Participation in international seminars, conferences, courses, etc.
- Expenses related to a reception in connection with the adjunct professor’s possible inaugural lecture.
- Funding for research stays or stays for OUH employees to the home institution of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor. This must be applied for by submitting a separate application to category a) International research stays for clinicians and researchers including pre-graduate and PhD students.

How to submit an application
You must submit your application via the application system efond. Please make sure that you choose the correct application form in efond when you want to apply for category b) “OUH Internationalisation Fund b) Affiliation of International adjunct associate and associate professors”.

Language
Your application must be in English or Danish.
Content of application
As a part of answering a number of questions in efond, the following must be drawn up:
- The research area of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor.
- Tasks which the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor will carry out at OUH. If the application concerns a prolongation of an already affiliated adjunct associate professor or an adjunct professor financed by a grant from the OUH Internationalisation Fund, activities and results from the previous grant must be listed.
- How OUH is expected to benefit from the affiliation of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor.
- Detailed timetable for the visits of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor including activities and publications.
- Budget (step 3 in efond) specified into:
- Travel expenses for each year applied for.
- Subsistence expenses for each year applied for (accommodation and daily allowances according to current circular for business travels).
- Which years and number of months a possible grant from the OUH Internationalisation Fund is to be used:
- Year 1 = 2025
- Year 2 = 2026
- Year 3 = 2027
- Year 4 = 2028
- Year 5 = 2029
- Year 6 = 2030
Appendices:
- CV and publication list with selected publications within the past five years for the adjunct associate professor or the adjunct professor (a maximum of two pages).
- Approval from the head of the OUH department which the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor will be affiliated to. The applicant must generate approval in efond Step 2 via e-mail to the OUH Head of Department of the OUH hosting department with a request to provide confirmation by following the link in the e-mail – please ensure that the Head of Department have approved before the application deadline. - Approval, if received, from SDU of the adjunct associate professor or adjunct professor.
You will receive a receipt of your application by email if it is submitted correctly.
Applications which fail to comply with the above formalities, will not be considered.
Assessment criteria and procedure
Applications are being assessed according to the above-mentioned objectives and requirements.
The submitted applications will be reviewed by the assessment committee for The OUH Internationalisation Fund.
All applicants will receive notice of the outcome of the application approximately three weeks after the application deadline.
