Significant changes from previous call
The OUH Internationalisation Fund has been in high demand and with the aim of increasing the possibility of a higher number of grants for research activities, the following changes have been made:
- The OUH Internationalisation Fund returns to its original purpose of supporting research activities only. Consequently, it is no longer possible to apply for funding of international stays for learning new clinical methods.
- Only expenses for transport to and from the destination and accommodation can be applied for. That is, salary, buy-out, daily allowances, local transport, etc. can no longer be applied for.
- A maximum of one grant per year for one trip per applicant for categories a) and c) will be available from the Fund.
- In the event of limited funding available from the Fund, priority will be given to the following strategically marked areas in the OUH and KI Research Strategy:
- Junior researchers (PhD students, postdocs, and assistant professors) travelling abroad (category a). Priority will be given to applications from departments who have not received a grant within a year.
- Affiliation of adjunct professors (category b). Priority will be given to applications from departments who have not yet affiliated adjunct professors.
- Applicants are asked to apply the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) templates for CV’s and track records/publication lists in order to include focus on impact (CoARA)
Overall objective
The Region of Southern Denmark and OUH strive to increase collaboration with hospitals and researchers abroad. The aim is to increase development, volume and quality of research to the benefit of treatment of patients. To achieve this goal, the OUH Internationalisation Fund is established in order to strengthen and develop the following for OUH and employees affiliated to OUH:
- Participation in international research networks.
- Research in new diagnostic and treatment methods including, for example, prevention, assessment, diagnosis, care, follow-up, rehabilitation, and palliation as well as innovative technologies.
- Opportunities for attracting and retain the best research talents.
- Opportunities for establishing additional elite research centres.
With the fund, OUH is able to co-finance:
-
International research stays.
-
Visits from international adjunct associate professors and adjunct professors to OUH/SDU.
-
Visits from researchers to OUH.
The OUH Internationalisation Fund applies for all disciplines of research and all medical specialties.
Treatment is to be regarded in the broadest sense possible. It includes, for example, prevention, assessment, diagnosis, care, follow-up, rehabilitation, and palliation.
The OUH Internationalisation Fund can be applied within the below mentioned three different categories. For each category, requirements, eligible costs, etc., are listed separately, see links below. The abovementioned overall objective of the fund applies for all three categories. Please note that the OUH Internationalisation Fund cannot cover expenses for seminars, conferences and courses abroad.
- a) International research stays for researchers including pre-graduate and PhD students.
- b) Visits from affiliated international adjunct associate professors and adjunct professors.
- c) Short Stays at OUH - visits from international researchers.
A total of DKK 5 m from the OUH Internationalisation Fund is available every year.
If the full annual budget of the fund is spent before the end of the year, subsequent application deadlines of that year will be suspended and be announced at this website.
