Focus Areas and Activities
PREmedico contributes to the development of personalised medicine through four key focus areas:
Networking
PREmedico works from a broad understanding of personalised medicine, including the 17 disease groups as well as areas such as genomics, biomarkers, digital health, biostatistics, and health services research. PREmedico provides a forum where researchers, clinicians, bioinformaticians and partners from industry and public networks can meet and collaborate across disease areas. In this way, we ensure that the topics we address are relevant to both research and clinical practice.
Research Activities
A central part of PREmedico’s work is collecting and sharing knowledge about ongoing research projects. We support the development of new ideas and projects and facilitate collaboration across institutions at both national and international levels. At the same time, we disseminate research findings through presentations, publications and events, ensuring that the latest knowledge benefits both researchers and clinicians.
Implementation of Personalised Medicine
Research should ultimately benefit patients. PREmedico therefore supports clinicians through education, inspiration and the exchange of experiences between research and practice. We promote the sharing of knowledge about new methods, technologies and equipment and continuously contribute content and resources that strengthen the implementation of personalised medicine in clinical settings.
The Organisational Landscape
PREmedico actively works to strengthen the visibility of the Region of Southern Denmark within personalised medicine, both nationally and internationally. At the same time, we highlight the many opportunities available to obtain funding for projects in the field, including through OPEN and other relevant partners inside and outside the region.
