About PREmedico

Our Mission

Personalised medicine seeks to tailor prevention, diagnosis and treatment to the individual patient’s genetic, environmental and lifestyle-related factors. PREmedico functions as a network that strengthens regional development by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers and clinicians, supporting new research projects, and promoting the use of new technologies in healthcare.

Background and Development 

PREmedico was established in 2014 as a collaboration between OUH and SDU. In 2021, the initiative was further strengthened through the establishment of the regional Data Support Centre for Personalised Medicine, located at OPEN. 

In 2023, PREmedico underwent a strategic reorganisation with a stronger focus on clinical collaboration, a broader scope of disease areas, and closer integration with regional and national initiatives in personalised medicine.

Today, PREmedico serves as a bridge that promotes collaboration, facilitates networking, and strengthens the link between research and implementation in the healthcare system of Southern Denmark.
