The center of Hyperinsulinism and Low Blood Sugar

The Center for Hyperinsulinism and Low Blood Sugar is a national and international expert facility specializing in complex conditions involving low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in children and adolescents. This encompasses diseases such as congenital hyperinsulinism (congenital hyperinsulinism, CHI), insulinoma, and pathological ketotic hypoglycemia.

The Center for Hyperinsulinism and Low Blood Sugar is a multidisciplinary department at OUH (Odense University Hospital), involving departments for pediatric medicine, genetics, anesthesia, nuclear medicine and radiology, surgery, and pathology. We are experts in the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of these conditions, and we collaborate on research with other national and international researchers and patient organizations.

The center is rooted at Odense University Hospital, where a significant portion of patients are diagnosed, treated, and choose to participate in our research projects.
