OUH leads in clinical training

Clinical trainingMedical practice and research are the basis of training. OUH and the University of Southern Denmark together work to train the doctors of the future, just as OUH also engages with several other educational institutions to train people within the first stage of tertiary education, of which the largest is of course training for the nursing profession.

OUH is one of the leading clinical training establishments for basic and advanced medical training. The hospital is the largest training establishment on Funen after the University of Southern Denmark.

There are 2,500 training places at OUH within a broad spectrum of functions: doctors, nurses – including specialist strains within both of these – therapists, secretaries, administrators and craftspeople.

Many of those seeking training in the region will most certainly come into contact with Odense University Hospital at some stage in their education.

The hospital has just reinforced its commitment in two areas. One is the establishment of a Clinical Training Unit for the first stage of tertiary medical education. Another is a local council for training of doctors which will concentrate on the development and quality assurance of specialist doctor training which takes place within the hospital’s departments.
